Mantras
Les
plus importantes pages décorées des manuscrits médiévaux imposent
toujours le respect par la finition minutieuse des différents éléments
et l’inimitable complexité lié au foisonnement et à la miniaturisation
des détails.
J'ai dessiné trois mantras dans lesquels j'ai essayé d'atteindre, ne
serait-ce que partiellement, une telle richesse. En plus, ils expriment
la même chose, répétée en continu, en anglais, en arabe et en breton:
Il y aura de la paix sur terre.
The carpetpages in the medieval manuscripts still inspire awe with their inimitable, meticulously executed illuminations.
I made three mantra's, in which I tried to reproduce at least something
of this richness. They each say the same thing, endlessly repeating
themselves, in English, in Arab and in Breton: There shall be peace on
Earth.
